Apocalypses, Megadungeons

I. Dear Reader,

Just the links and media again but there’s some good ones. Enjoy your week, folks!

Truncatedly,

Thomas

II. Media of the Week

  • Around the Hearth has a new podcast exploring the history of post-apocalyptic games, Roll for Mutation. I’m excited for this because I think the trend towards the post-apocalyptic is a high-level sociocultural thing. It’s real and we’re feeling it! The first episode is about Gamma World but will be getting into Twilight 2000, Apocalypse World, etc in future episodes.
  • Eric Vulgaris has this 40 minute retrospective on his 150 session West Marches style campaign into the Arden Vul megadungeon. I love this kind of voyeuristic insight into games that I’ll never run or play. It’s full of spoilers but if, like me, you’re never actually going to play this module, it’s great.

Arden Vulgaris was great. Thank you for sharing that.

    I’m fascinated by mega dungeons.
